URUTI DISTRICT NEWS

GENERAL ITEMS. The prizewinners of last Friday evening’s euchre party and dance- were Miss E. Thomson and Mr. J. Bell, and the lucky tar A prizes .were secured by Miss E. McGregor and Mr. H. Fugle. Messrs. C. H. Short and B;. Stanton had charge of the tables. Mr, A; Strickland was master of ceremonies for the dance which-followed, and music was supplied by-Mesdames W. P. Jones'and'S:-Jones,' Miss M. Cxenham, Messrs. R. Lar-sen and I. Rea. ■

'The lower bridge on the Mangahia Road - has recently undergone repairs and is again safe for heavy traffic. - A fairly large slip has occurred on the Moki Ri I beyond the junction with the Rerekino Road. Although the slip is passable for horses much inconvenience is experienced in droving cattle and sheep. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs. L. Taylor, Urenui, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. Sutton. Miss Shaw, New Plymouth, is visiting .Mr, and Mrs. D. S. Musker. Mrs. J. Bell is spending a holiday at Tuna. Miss Joan Butt, who is attending college in Wellington, is spending her first term vacations with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Butt. Mrs. Hitse, New Plymouth, has recently been the giiest of Mrs. W. P. Jones. , Mrs. Riddell has" returned from New Plymouth. [ ' Mr. R. Richardson,- Napier, has been visiting Mr. and Mrs.. J. Richardson.
