MAN DIES AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.-—Press Association. Wellington, April 28. When returning from a day’s shooting, on. the Wainui-o-mata hills yesterday afternoon, William Ernest Childs, aged 21, was accidentally shot, and died in hospital. .. Deceased and a friend, H. R. Pritchard, left Lower Hutt at 8 o’clock in the morning to go shooting oh the neighbouring hills, and were returning about 1.30. Pritchard,-who was .in the lead, had just gone through a fence when he.heard a shot and, turning, saw Childs hanging on"the "fence. He went back and spoke to him, but got -no reply. He then took the injured man from the 'fence and noticed that a nbot from the .22 calibre rifle which Childs was carrying had entered the corner of his right eye. With the assistance of two passers-by Childs was conveyed to hospital,' but died'shortly after admittance.
