NEW PLYMOUTH INGLESIDE
CALEDONIAN SOCIETY FUNCTION.
The second ingleside of the New Plymouth Caledonian Society held in the Agricultural Hall last night was extremely successful and a large number of dancers was present. After being played in by the full band, Chief Dr. D. E. Brown opened the proceedings by welcoming all present. The grand march was led by Pipe-Major C. Arnold and Pipers N. Cruden and R. Black. The haggis was borne in by Drum-Major W. Williamson. accompanied by Pipers Cruden and Arnold, and the ode was recited by Chief Dr. Brown. Supper arrangements were supervised by an energetic ladies’ committee. Enjoyable dance music was played by Martin’s orchestra. The masters of ceremonies were Alessrs. J. Corkill and J. Andrews. Items were rendered as follows: Irish jig, Aliss Alay Weir (accompaniment by Piper Cruden); cornet duet, Alessrs. A. E. A'lelody and G. Nunns (accompaniment by Mr. P. Fredric); whistling item, Miss E. Rotbery (accompaniment by Miss E. Crawshaw).
