MOTOR-CYCLE CLUB RUN

STRATFOKD MOUNTAIN HOUSE.

Twenty-five members and friends of the North Taranaki Motor-cycle Club rode to the Stratford mountain house during the week-end. The outing commenced at the Cenotaph just after 9.30

a.m. Mr. S. McCann led as captain, and Mr. D. Broome was vice-captain. The trip was uneventful until just past the mountain house, were the road is under construction for a mile or more, and the surface was in bad condition. There a number of riders experienced difficulty in geting through the mud, and pillion riders were asked to walk for a short distance at various parts. One member was more deter-

mined than the others, however, and he and his passenger went well until a bad skid saw. them picking themselves put of the mud.

.A tramp, to Dawson-Falls and back was made, and it was then time to commence the return journey. Mount Egmont- was obscured by clouds, and no attempts were made to reach the summit. After an enjoyable run New Plymouth was reached at 5.30 p.m.
