MAGISTRATE EXPRESSES REGRET.

In fining two relief workers, Francis William Menzies, aged 73, and Alexander Braid Blance, aged 34, £2 each, in default 14 days’ imprisonment for the conversion of a car the magistrate. Mr. Mosley, said: “According to the court records during past months there have been a number of these men on relief works before me. A large proportion are decent fellows but a small propoition are wasting their earnings in drink.' It is a shame that this should occur and that private and public money is being wasted on men of this kind.”
