INGLEWOOD NEWS

SWIMMING CLUB'S PICNIC. There was a large gathering at the Everett Road Reserve on Sunday for the combined picnic of the North Taranaki swimming clubs, and despite the threatening Weather an enjoyable time was spent. During the afternoon a youth named Higgins, Waitara, had a seizure and was nearly drowned. Dr. McAllum’s services were required to restore him to consciousness.

The fortnight’s fine, weather experit ence'd in Inglewood was broken on Sunday night, when a terrific storm was experienced. There was a strong gale, and 1.43 inches of rainfall was registered. Considerable minor damage was done, and gardens suffered to a great extent.
