TARANAKI ALPINE CLUB
TWO NEW TRIPS PLANNED. ,
Two further trips, to the mountain and to Pukearuhe-, were planned at a meeting of the Taranaki Alpine Club at New Plymouth. There were present: Messrs. L. W r . Lovell (chairman), R. Larsen, T. Bellringer, K. P. Tompkins, C. Deem, H. Larsen, Rigby Allen, W. Groombridge (secretary), Mesdames EL lis and Larsen and Miss I, Mount-ford. Mrs. Ellis, who took the. place of Miss -E. Bellringer, was welcomed to the committee. Mr. R. Larsen said he would welcome volunteers to help erect guide wires on the scoria above Humphries’ Castle. The erection of these wires will assist parties in coming down over that difficult patch in heavy fog. Six new members were elected. It was reported that owing to ths present financial position the erection of the hut at Humphries’ CaStle would have to .be held over, but it was thought the necessary excavation work could be commenced.
