The Shaw, Savill and Albion vessel Pakeha, at present loading at New Plymouth, is expected to leave for Wanganui to-night to continue loading. PORT HOBART FROM NEW YORK The C. and D. Line advises that the motor-ship Port Hobart, which is to leave New York on February ■2B for New Zealand, will discharge at Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Lyttelton and Dunedin. PORT HUON’S MOVEMENTS. The C-, and D. Line motor-ship Port Huon left Auckland on Thursday for . Gisborne, where she was due yesterday morning for further loading. The vessel is to complete at Napier and Wellington, is due at Wellington on January 22, and is scheduled to clear port on January 24 for London, via the Panama Canal. The vessel carries a dairy produce loading from New Plymouth. HUNTINGDON FOR LOADING. The Federal Line steamer Huntingdon was to leave Tokomaru Bay at 5 o’clock last evening for Auckland, where she is due to-day to continue loading for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. She will complete loading at Wellington, Sailing from that port bn January 24 for London, carrying a dairy produce cargo from New Plymouth. KIWITEA AT HOBART. The Union Company advises that the Kiwitea was due at Hobart on Thursday from Westport. She is to load there and will complete at Edithburg, Adelaide and Melbourne for Auckland, Portland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. KATOA RESUMING. The Union Company’s Katoa, which Jias been undergoing survey and overhaul at Dunedin, is to leave there next Wednesday, via ports, for Wellington and Auckland. PORT HUNTER LEAVES COLON. The C- and D. Line has received cabled advice that the Port Hunter, which left Wellington on- December 24 for London, cleared Colon last Tuesday. She has meat and dairy produce from New Plymouth. NEW BURNS-PHILP MOTOR-SHIP. Burns, Philp and Company have received cable advice that the new motor ship Maedhui for the Austral-Pacific Island mail service, was launched at Glasgow on December 23. The Maedhui will have accommodation for 146 first-class passengers. The propelling machinery consists of an 8-cylinder single-acting 4cycle engine of the Burmeister and Wain system, built by Messrs. J. G. Kincaid and Co., under license. A Buchi super-charger is part of t'-j installation, and it is expected that the engines will develop 3820 brake horse-power, giving the vessel a sea speed of 14 knots fully loaded. t- ; AUSTRALIAN LINERS SOLD. ’ The Australian inter-State oil-burning passenger liners Ormiston (ex Famakaj and Orungal (ex Rezara), both well known in the passenger service between Melbourne and North Queensland ports, have been sold to Eastern Traders, Ltd., of Hong-Kong. The vessels’ running on the Australian coast will not be affected by the sale. The two steamer? are of nearly 6000 tons gross register each, and prior to the recent sales were- owned by Khedival Mail Line, and runniiig under charters to the A.U.S.N. Co. EKNAREN’S LONG VOYAGE. On a unique 25,000-mile’' world cruise the Swedish motor-ship Eknaren berthed at Melbourne recently. After taking passengers aboard and loading oil and general merchandise for Australian ports, the Eknaren was dispatched from Vancouver for Melbourne, via Sydney and Brisbane, on November 8. On discharging the last of this cargo at Port Pirie she will sail for the South Seas, where copra, beche de mer and other tropical products, for Marseilles, will be loaded. At French ports she will take on a cargo for Sweden, and reach her home port eight months hence, to load again for Vancouver. • • SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Tate, S.M., in tue following undefended civil claims for debt heard in the Waitara Magistrate’s Court yesterday: —H. L. Northern and Co. v A. H. Hempie, £l7 9s 6d (costs £2 14s); H. Wells and Co., Ltd. v. Wati Wipa, £6 6s Id (£1 17s 6dl; M. J. Erceg v. A. J. Moody, £2 Us 9d (£1 3s 6d); A. W. Rawles v. Kingi Ropiha, £4 5s lid (£1 12s 6d). In judgment summons proceedings Whaka Taylor was ordered to pay L. H. Sampson 9s 6d forthwith, in default one day’s imprisonment. William F. Dowman was ordered to pay Fitzgerald and O’Neill £3 14s 6d by instalments of 5s a month, the first payment to be made forthwith. Tahe Oneniihi was ordered to pay A. W. Rawles £7 18s 3d (costs 15s 6di forthwith, in default 7 days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so long as defendant pays £1 per month.
