HALF-HOLIDAY QUESTION
MOVEMENT AT WANGANUI. The half-holiday question was distuned at a meeting at Wanganui on Thursday night. The fpllowing resolutions were- ’ “This meeting, representative of the business interests of ..the City of Wanganui, ,is strongly of the opinion that ? the restoration of-/the Thursday half- - holiday would be of very considerable benefit to the city, and resolves that --steps be taken towards securing for the community the alteration.” “That this meeting, having unanimously expressed the opinion tha' the restoration of the Thursday half-holiday is essential to the best interests of the City of Wanganui, resolves to form itself into a committee for the purpose ■ of .bringing the change into effect.” There were about 40 traders present and the above resolutions were carried •unanimously.
