RECEPTION AT INVERCARGILL .. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. . The Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe, who arrived at Invercargill last evening on their first visit to Southland, were accorded a public reception this afternoon. A large crowd gathered in Queen’s Park to greet their Excellencies. The Mayor presented Lord Bledisloe with a leather-bound album containing an official address of. welcome, and in addition a collection .of photographic views representing the city of Invercargill, several country districts of Southland, the Southern Lakes and Sounds.

To-night the Vice-Regal party weie the guests at a dinner tendered by the Southland A. and P. Association and the Farmers’ Union. To-morrow, following a round of visits in Invercargill, their Excellencies will go to Bluff, where they will board the Government steamer Matai for the west coast,
