CONCERT BY THE PUPILS.

The annual concert by the pupils othe Ratapiko School took place m the hall on Tuesday night, and despitethe bad weather a large number attended to enjoy the very fine programme pre sen ted Mr. M. Nolan, chairman of the school committee, thanked the people for attending in such large numbeis and congratulated the teachers, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Court for the manner in which they had trained the children. The school was busily engaged examination work till the end of her, and so a very small margin o time was allowed in preparation for the

They are Enid Hendry, Mavis Grigg, Mavis Gear and Keith Wells. - Special prizes were awarded as follows:—Geography scrap book, standard 6 Keith Wells;, examination marxe, George Karalus 1, John Kuklinski quality of work, Josie Nolan; examination marks, standard 6, Enid Hendry. Attendance certificates were secured bv Clarice Wilson, Enid Hendry, Peter Ghnnaway, Keith Wells, Dan Butler and Clarence Butler. ... The calves reared by the school children were judged last week. and fancy dress ball was held in the Oacnui Hall on Friday. The hall had been decorated with coloured streamers and greenery fay the members of the Oaonui Tennis Club. The-children occupied the floor until 10 p.m., when they were served with an excellent -supper. Masters Len Ibbotson and Melvyn Sole were masters of ceremonies for this part of the programme. The following children won prizes donated by Mr. S. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames Coombe, Wilson, Pennington, Ibbotson, Dobbin, Willis, Gardner, and Misses Ibbotson and Zurcher, (2). Winners of the competitions , were Mrs. McDougal and Mr. McCandlish. During the evening Mr. L. Young, chairman of the school committee, presented the prizes won and tnanked the residents for their assistance.
