RIGHTS UNDER LICENSE.

WORK IN NEW ZEALAND WATERS.

Confirmation of the report concerning the establishment of a new whaling company has been received at Dunedin. The company’s title is the British Antarctic Whaling Company. The capital is £225,000 and a strong board of directors has been secured in London. Provision is made in. the articles of association .for the appointment of local boards. The company is to/take over and acquire from Mr. John G. Neil all the rights in a license to be granted by the New Zealand Government to operate two whaling, vessels for a period of 21 years from September, 1931, in New Zealand mandated waters, including the Ross Sea, with the use of the Balleny Islands as a base. The company also takes over the benefit of an agreement entered into with the, Armstrong-Whitworth Coni-, pahy, for' building a ; whaling vessel i for' £350,000, and five chasers tor £1'05,000, delivery of these six vessels to be .frith-; in 11 months from the acceptance of the contract.
