Revelations in connection with the inquest on Domenico Belle, who was murdered at Newtown last’ February, show that the crime, for which no individual has yet been brought to book, arose out of the activities of the “Camorra,” an Italian secret society’s branch in Sydney. Documents implicating certain Italians have come to light, but as those affected have not broken any Australian law the authorities are powerless to deal with them. . . - ' i
The Federal. Government will" probably take steps to enable the deportation of persons associated with Cammorist activities. At present the police are -seeking Belle’s murderer in the face of a sinister, truculent silence among the dead man’s companions, whose attitude is practically one of defiance, daring the police to “keep out of this or there will be trouble.”
