SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL CONCERT. Although" its primary object was the raising of funds to provide Christinas; gifts for the children, the concert organised and provided by the Te Kiri School was an outstanding success. Despite the ' incessant rain . which began early in the evening a* large assembly of parents and friends filled the seating accommodation to capacity, while a lengthy programme, conducted with scarcely a hitch, was a tribute to the organisation and preparation of Mr. L. J. Nobbs (head teacher) and Mies I. Nisbet (assistant). Mr. E. A. Collins, chairman of the committee,"paid tribute to the zeal of Mri Nobbs in his initial concert and congratulated the children on the standard of the items. He also thanked the audience for its patronage and trusted another concert would be staged next year. An ingenious stage complete with wings, back cloth and curtains. lent an air of realism to the acts, while the general decorative scheme was admirably executed.
