LONDON OUR ONLY" HOPE.

'. ' ■ (To the Editor.) Sir,—l was at the Auckland wool sale and the buyers were only playing with the wool, their bids being sporting ones. Now every man should ship to London, i.e., if he has wool worth while. In trying to dish London and sell, locally wool growers got into the soup properly., t hen you come to think of it New Zealand cannot sell a pound of meat, butter, cheese or coarse crossbred (except for carpets) outside England (even the Free State that took 1900 tons of our butter, has put Is per lb duty). No matter what England does, buy only English goods, for English gold is the only thing that keeps us from (and this is no figure of speech) starvation. I am, etc BYSTANDER.
