An exceptionally good athletic pi'o--gramme has been arranged for the Hawera Amateur Athletic Club’s first electric light sports meeting of the season to be held at th» showgrounds to-mor-row. ' A feature of the evening will be the challenge relay race between two teams of ladies from Hawera and New Plymouth, and one each from Lltham and Opunake. The Hawera teams are: —A, Misses E. There are about 60 candidates in Hawera for the Education Department examinations and” they are at present sitting in the Methodist Sunday school hall. The examinations are for the training college entrance, pjabljc service entrance, "intermediate, senior and
