CHRISTMAS CHEER FUND

CONCERT AT NEW -PLYJ.idtJTH. Preparations are well in hand for the commercial travellers’ Christmas cheer concert to be’ held in the Opera . House) New Plymouth, on December 10. Last year’s concert was a huge success and this year’s effort will be on a rquch larger scale. The/first half of the programme comprises items by the New Plymouth Orchestral Society. Messrs, S. Carson and F. Silver, Eltham, have again consented to assist and their, reappearance will meet with the approval of theatre-goers. The Regimental Band has offered its services. Mr. R. Georgewill give items -of an original nature. Several other artists will contribute to the programme. In the second half an original musical comedy, “The Beachcomber,” will be staged with full effects. This comedy, composed by Mr. W. Graeme Holder, is a r clever piece and a very strong cast has been selected. Rehearsals are in full swing and with the enthusiasm displayed patrons are assured-of a great musical treat. The proceeds will be handed to the New Plymouth Relief Association to provide Christmas cheer , for the children and the aged and needy.
