HORTICULTURAL SHOW. ('From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the executive committee of -St. Mark’s Horticultural Show Committee was held on Friday night, when the pfesident, the Rev. A. J. Parnell, presided over a full attendance. Correspondence was received from several nurserymen expressing their willingness to assist the committee by donating. special prizes, which were accepted. The committee which had undertaken the work of canvassing for donations and special prizes for the schedule reported having been most successful, w.hile the secretary and his assistant also stated that the support received from the business people of the towm had been most encouraging. • A discussion followed regarding the acttial date of the show, a member of the committee stating that a neighbouring society liad decided to hold its show oiT the original date selected by the Kaponga' society. It was decided to postpone the show a further week, this now making the date Friday, February 27/ The -final- revision of the schedule before being sent to the printer’s, a”d the distribution and allocation of special prizes occupied the attention of the committee until a late hour. Miss I. D. Bell, Palmerston North, who'recently Visited her ' sister, Mrs. L. A. Wells, has returned home. -Mrs., (Dr.) J. I. R. Gray is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mr. L. Shepherd, Auckland, a former resident of Kaponga for some years, is on a short visit to the district. He is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Tattersall, Eltham Road. Mr. R. Jones, of the New Plymouth post office staff, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. T.- Jones, during the the week-end.
