PLANE ALMOST CAPSIZES

OSCAR GARDEN’S ESCAPE FLIGHT FROM MELBOURNE STOP MADE AT CANBERRA By Telegraph—Press Assri.—Copyright. Rec.' 9.50 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 13. Oscar Garden arrived at Mascot aerodrome this afternoon from Melbourne after a very bumpy passage. Stopping at Canberra en route the airman had a narrow escape from injury. The plane was coming to a standstill after landing when a heavy gust of wind struck it at an angle. The machine tipped over on a wing, balanced for a few seconds and then fell back on its wheels undamaged. During the journey Garden sometimes fell or shot upwards hundreds of feet owing to air pockets.
