A glance through the crime records of the 30 days since Jack Diamond was shot shows 91 were shot in New York. Of those, 42 are already buried. This takes in no account of the suburban area. The city’s record for last year was 357; so far this year the figures exceed these by 50 per cent. The New York Evening Telegram is demanding the authorities to take immediate action.
