SHIELD MATCHES CONTINUED 'Shield matches in the central division Z)f the Taranaki Bowling Centre were continued yesterday in perfect weather; Stratford securing a narrow victory -* 16 points in an eight rink -game against Eltham at Eltham, and Avon defeating Inglewood by 25 in a five rink match played on the Avon green. This match was drawn for decision at Inglewood, but owing to heavy rain in the mornino- the venue was moved to the Avon green, much less rain having fallen at Stratford.; STRATFORD DEFEATS ELTHAM The Eltham green was in first-class order and bowls drew wide. A margin of 25 points in favour of Avon resulted when the scores for the Avon v. Inglewood game at Avon were computed. At the conclusion of the games the president of the Avon Club, Mr. J.
