NEW LABOUR PARTY STAR
SIR O. MOSLEY’S BOLDNESS
PARTY TRADITIONS IGNORED
APPEAL TO YOUNGER MEN
CABINET FEARS ELECTION
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, Oct. 12.
The most important event at the Labour Party conference at Llandudno, savs the Morning Post col respondent, was tile astonishing success of Sir Oswald Mosley, whose dashing leadership in enunciating a bold policy cutting across party traditions captuicd the younger men.
The Labour Party’s devotion to free trade, the writer stated, was due only to the fact that the present leaders were brought up in the Liberal free trade school, the younger men were revolting from it, and Sir Oswald Mosley led them to a cleavage which would ultimately lead to the disapperaance of most of the present leaders. The correspondent was convinced that the Government expected to remain in office at least for two years, and expressed the opinion that Messrs MacDonald and Lloyd George had agreed to hang together and avoid an election at an early date at all costs, fearing that at present a tariff policy would win. The Government expected the tariff storm to blow over and trade to improve within two years.
