NEW PLYMOUTH BEAT WANGANUI The annual Rugby match between New Plymouth and Wanganui waterside workers’ teams was played at the New Plymouth Convent School grounds on Saturday in boisterous weather. New Plymouth retained the Les Watters Cup by 12 points to three. The game was very strenuous and the players handled the ball well under great difficulty. Tries were scored for New Plymouth by C.. Wannacott and T. Collins. Prior converted Collins’ try •and kicked a field goal a minute, before time was called. Narby scored an unconverted try for Wanganui. The visitors were entertained at a dinner at the Breakwater Hotel in the evening. , They returned to Wanganui yesterday afternoon. RUGBY LEAGUE AT SYDNEY. ' WESTERN SUBURBS THE WINNER.
