Despite a slight rally towards the close stocks lost a billion dollars in hcAvy selling, when prices collapsed in every section of the list and thousands of shares were thrown overboard. •Selling gathered momentum till the new high-speed tickers were hard pressed to keep pace with the dealings.
United States Steels lost over £6,750,000 market value, American Telephones lost £11.000,000, General Electric £8,100,000, and General Motors £9,500,000.
