The affairs of the Southern Hemisphere Assurance Association, \jjiose offices wdre raided by the police on August 19, came before the Chief Judge in Equity, who made an order to wind up the company and an jflicial liquidator was appointed. A message of August 19 said: The police raided the premises of the Southern Hemisphere' Assurance Association Limited and impounded the ledgers and documents. Alan Bull, a director of the company, was later charged with having conspired with Arthur Brown to cheat and defraud the policy-holders of he association. Accused was the governing director.
