The official names chosen for the Duke and Duchess of York's infant daughter are Margaret Rose. She will be christened in the private chapel in Buckingham Palace in October. ‘ Margaret is an old Scotch royal name and is a pleasant reminder that the little Princess is a daughter of Scotland. It has been a family name of the Strathmores for five centuries. .One of the Duchess’ own names is a variant (Marguerite), while Rose is the name of the Duchess’ beautiful sister, Lady Rose Leveson Gower, who was one of the first visitors to see the baby. It is expected that the Prince of Wales will be one of the god--1 fathers.
