The New South Wales marathon championship of 26 miles and 385 yards resulted.—H. Hayden (Botany Harriers) 1 1, A. G. Williams (Botany Harriers) 2, V. Sly ('Manly Athletic Club) 3. The watches showed that Hayden made extraordinary time and a. seafch disclosed that he had not traversed the course as laid over the last quarter, He was found drinking a glass of wine.. Apprised of the position he swallowed the drink, set out to follow the correct course and then finished in 2 hours 58 minutes 19 seconds, several minutes ahead of his club mate. ’*
