CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
MEW PLYMOUTH SEASON SUCCESSFUL OPENING DAY. VISITING SHOTS ATTEND MEETING The New Plymouth Gun Club opened its 1930-31 season during the weekend. There were a number of visitors from Hawera and other parts of the province and the gathering was a most successful one, many fine scores being recorded. The light was good aud there ‘was scarcely any breeze. . ? The main event of the day was the open £2O shoot, which drew 14 guns, and B. Wheeler (New Plymouth) and A; Nichol (Hawera), both of whom were in excellent form; broke 20 of the 21 birds. . They were closely followed by 0. George arid A. Brown with 19 birds. Brown and George divided third and fourth prizes. The results are:—
