LIVE STOCK SALE. ' . VALUES FIRM AT FEILDING. Folding, August 29. -' It was to. be expected that the high prices ; ruling last Friday would, draw a large yardirig for this week’s stock sale, and the offerings of fat sheep and dairy cattle particularly were up to this expectation. The yarding of fat sheep, which comprised, mostly hoggets, was offered to keen competition. Freezing company buyers operated freely, and the prices for hoggets -were very little, if anything, below last week’s rates. This was not the case with grown sheep. Vendors, encouraged by last week’s rates, had placed high reserves on '-wethers, the result being that many pens were passed in. Ewes also did not realise the hopes raised, by last Friday’s level. Still the sale was more than satisfactory. Store pens -were not so well filled as at last week, the yarding comprising mostly hoggets. A heavy yarding of dairy; stock came forward, and. considering the there was rib reduction in the high prices reached last ■Friday.’ To-day’s yarding included in rough condition, and these could not be expected to attract the best prices.
