MYSTERIOUSS BOMB PLOT.
ATTACK OX HAMBURG HOME MILLIONAIRE’S WIFE INJURED SEQUEL TO BLACKMAILING By Telegraph -Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 5.5 p.in. Berlin, Aug. 26. A mysterious bomb plot against Herr Schleimann, German oil magnate, resulted in his young wife being taken to hospital in a serious condition yesterday. During the night miscreants cut all the telephone wires to the millionaire’s home at Hamburg and attached a cord from a shutter to an infernal machine in the garden. Loaded with powerful explosives, the bomb was discovered in the morning, the fuse having failed to cause an explosion, but meanwhile Frau Schleimann trod on a stick cunningly connected with a second bomb concealed nearby. The contents exploded and the wife fell unconscious with her face and arm's cut by a score of fragments of the bomb. It seems Herr Schleimann recently was the recipient of a blackmailing letter demanding- £12,500. The millionaire put the matter in the hands of the police and the dynamite outrage may be the blackmailer’s revenge.
