On Friday-afternoon the school'children “broke up” for their • spring holidays. Of late the junior ■ children have been engaged in the making of a woollen rug. During tlie afternoon the lucicy ticket° was drawn, the winner of the rug being Mrs. George Allardice, Puniho Ro'ad. A profit, .was made-on the undertaking, and this will be devoted'to buying more library ' books for the juniors. A farewell was tendered by Miss Taylor and the pupils to the departing teacher, Mrs. Mansfield, who is to take up relieving duties at the Tikorangi school. Until the attendance increases the Newall school will be, in charge, of a sole, teacher.
