The presentation of a handsome painted photograph was made to Miss Johnstone, relieving teacher, by the pupils. Miss M. McLellan conveyed the good wishes of the pupils for her future prosperity. ■; The ■ Oaonui hall on Friday night was. crowded. for the girls’ basketball club’s dance in. aid of the funds for a new tennis court. The financial result was highly satisfactory and socially the gathering was up to the best Oaonui standard” The music was supplied by Henderson’s Star orchestra. Extras were played by Misses Field and Glengarry, and Messrs. McCandlish and I. Bishop, and a special feature was a number of extras played by “Ned Kelly’s Band” (Messrs. Hooker and Brooker). Misses Ena Look and Marcella McQuaig performed the duties of M.C. The balloon dance was won by Mr. and Miss Lockiey and the Monte Carlo by Mr. /Vivis and Mrs. Minhinnick. The committee responsible for the management comprised Misses Yandle, Lusk, Taylor, Field, McQuaig, Alvis, Reynolds, Zurcher, Watson, Fleming, Pennington, Gilshnan and Mortensen.
