NEW ZEALAND CRICKET

PROPOSED HIGHER WICKET. By Telegraph.—Prose Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night it was decided to make a further application to the New South Wales Cricket Association for a refund of income tax on the M.C.C. match.

It was decided to recommend the associations at the annual meeting to adopt the higher wickets for Plunket Shield matches this season. In the meantime the secretary was instructed to write to the major associations to secure their views on the matter.

The chairman pointed out that if a team went to England it would have to use bigger wickets, and the players should therefore have experience with them this season.
