In the quarter finals to-day Baroness Georgia Giacomo Levi, Italy, formerly Miss Maude Rosenbaum, Chicago, the discovery of the women’s tennis season, defeated Miss Penelope Anderson (Richmond), 4 —6, 6 —4, 7 —5. She meets Mrs. Anna Harper (San Francisco) on Friday. Mrs. Harper defeated Miss Mary Greef (Kansas City), 3 —6, 6—l, 6 —4. Miss Betty Nuthall defeated Miss Dorothy Weisel (California), 6 —l, 6 —l. At Newport Allison defeated Shields in the quarter finals, 6 —B, 6 —2, 6 —4, . At Newport Lott defeated Wood, 6—4, 7—4 —6, 4 —6, 6 —4; Tilden defeated Mangin, 6—2, 6—3, 7—5; Hunter defeated Van Ryn, B—6, 4—6, 6—3, I—6, 6—4. At Forest Hill on Friday Miss Betty Nuthall will meet Miss Marjorie Morrill, of Deadham, who defeated Miss Ethel Burkhardt (California), 4 —6, G—3, 6—2.
