ACCEPTANCES FOR RACES OWNERS RESPOND GENEROUSLY.' PROMISE OF SPLENDID MEETING. The scratchings averaged three and the number of acceptors just under ten horses for each race —a very satisfactory position. All the best horses stand their ground, the only absentee of note being Lady Quex in the Stratford Handicap, but her defection makes the race more open. Two previous winners of the Hunt Club Cup, Waitaunaha and Huirangi Girl, have accepted, and in this race is also the winner of the recent Egmont-Wan-ganui Hunt Cup, Son o’ Mine.
