The wrestlers Ted Thye and Billy Edwards were again principals in a bout at the Stadium. After four rounds of biting, kicking, punching and spitting the police stopped the contest in the fifth. 'The crowd of 10,000 roundly hootbed, and the referee left the ring without giving a decision as to the winner. Unprecedented scenes occurred in the previous match between Thye and Ed--wards. They fought madly after the referee, Tom Banner, had been kicked unconscious. Finally the referee recovered somewhat and pronounced Thye the winner, lie then left the ring. Actually it was Thye’s foot which caused the trouble. While pandemonium reigned the match was continued with another wrestler, Tom Enrich, as referee. The contest ended in a draw. When either man offended Enrich applied - vicious ; holds or smacks.
