ELECTRICITY FOR CLIFTON
TARANAKI BOARD’S PROPOSALS. URENUI RESIDENTS IN FAVOUR. Reversing the opinion expressed at a meeting of Tikorangi people Irnst week, a meeting of 23 residents of the Urenui district held at Urenui on Monday night carried a motion instructing the Taranaki Power Board to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for permission to take a poll on a proposal to raise a loan for the reticulation of part of the Clifton County. At Tikorangi a proposal to carry a similar motion was lost by 15 to 4. At Urenui the voting was two to one in favour of the resolution, the proposition being, particularly popular with the residents of the Urenui township.
The proposal provides for the reticulation of part of the Clifton County with power from the Taranaki Power Board’s generating plant, carried into Die district down the Otaraoa Road, near Tarata.
