DOCTOR KILLED BY TRAIN

COLLISION ON LEVEL CROSSING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Carterton, August 7. A tragic accident occurred at the Clareville level railway crossing thio morning, when Dr. Frank Adrian Morton was killed instantly. He was going to call on a patient and apparently did not see or hear the train approaching till he was within a few feet of the line. Evidence shows that he jammed on his brakes, but the car skidded in loose metal and the engine caught the car in the middle and smashed it to an unrecognisable mass. Dr. Morton was thrown out at the other side on to the cattle stop, and was killed instantly. He was a young man and had been practising at Carterton for two years. He leaves a widow, Doctor VV. Morton.
