GUN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
WINNER'S FINE PERFORMANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The twenty-ninth sweepstake clay pigeon match for the championship of New Zealand was held under the auspices of the North Canterbury Gun Club at Rangiora to-day. The winner was w S. Anderson (Methven). There were 37 entries, and the prize money was divided among six competitors, who tied. Anderson won on a shoot off. The six qualifying were S. Anderson, D. Davidson (Culverden), T. Wrigley (Levin), J. Winchester (Ellesmere), 11. Grcnnell (Christchurch) and C. Seddon (Hamilton). The conditions were 21 birds off 18 yards. The match was fired in a dull light with a heavy southwest wind and ceaseless rain. Anderson and the other five shot all 21 birds, and in the shootoff Anderson beat Winchester at the 20th bird, so that the winner shot 41 birds straight. ’
