THE REGENT. i FAMILY NIGHT TO-NIGHT. “Dames Ahoy,”- screamingly funny all-talking comedy starring Otis Harlan, Glenn Tryon, Eddie Gribbon, Helen Wri"ht and Gertrude Astor, will be finally presented at the Regent, New Blymouth-, this evening. “Dames Ahoy tells of the search by three sailors for a o-irl with a strawberry birthmarkion her knee wfio married one them when he was under the influence of drink. It is one of the real big laughs of the year. “Dames Ahoy” is preceded by a good supporting programme. COMMENCING TO-MORROW. - “Harmony at Home,” heading the new programme at the Regent to-morrow night, is a screen talking version of the very .successful stage play, -*- 13e Family Upstairs,” which was written bv Harry Delf. There is no involved plot, there are no fictional episodes; it’s all just what happens when the head of the house received a promotion ana an increase in salary and the farm y proceeds to go on a spending orgy, hiforts of the father to compel a 17-year-old “cake-eating” eon to find some work for himself, also to train an irrepressible 14-year-old girl, and finally to thwart the mother’s efforts to marry off an elder daughter who does not want to get married, at least until she is in love, form the basic episodes in one of the most entertaining pictures of the year. The capable cast includes Wil-li-m Collier, senr., Elizabeth Patterson, Marguerite Churchill, Charles Eaton, Charlotte Henry, Rex Bell, Dot Farley and Dixie Lee. In Raoul Walsh’s production “The Cock-Eyed World,” El Brendel sang a fe w ditties. In Walsh’s current production “Hot For. Paris,” in which Victor McLaren is featured with Brendel and Fifi. Dorsay, the Swede comic has been promoted bv Walsh to sing a special number written for him by Walter Donaldson and Edgar Leslie and called “The Cuckoo Song.” “Hot For Pans, which commences at Everybody’s to-morrow ni"hf, chiefly concerns the first mate or a bailing vessel, played by McLaglen. He buys a ticket in the Calcutta .sweepstakes, wins the capital prize in the Derby, and cannot be found to deliver to him the million the winning long shot brought home. When all this, money is delivered McLaglen proceeds to go on a spending spree in Paris and then things happen.
