Bramwell. at a house-warming in their beautiful new home in Cameron Street, when dancing, competitions and music made the evening a very bright one. Airs. Bramwell wore a beautiful silk fish net frock in turquoise with embroidered posies in pink and matching silver lame coatee. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Wilson (Gisborne), tho latter wearing a black flounced frock in satin and silk lace, Air. and Mrs. H. W. Swinburn (pale autumn-toned floral georgette and coatee), Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McQuin (shell pink and black model frock), Mr. and Mrs. T. F. McKenzie (black lace frock and matching coatee), Aliss Evelyn Buist (crimson chenille, patterned ninon), Miss Joyce Powdrell [Diack and gold spotted net frock over pale pink), Aliss Myra Powdrell (pale green and orchid floral taffetas), Aliss Molly Page (apple . .green satin frock and silver coatee), Aliss Betty Dunlop (black frock, diamante trimmed), Aliss Betty Ryan (black taffetas, diamante trimmed), Miss Edna Joll (mimosa chenille and georgette), Aliss Dolly Aleyrick (Pink and beige Paisley georgette). Aliss Myra-Powdrell, Miss Evelyn Buist and Mrs. McKenzie tied for the competition, Miss Buist winning the draw.

On Alonday evening tho musical circle at the Women’s Club gave an evening to members, Aliss Daisy Reilly being convenor. The programme, which was an exceptionally good one, was received with much enthusiasm, and the contributors very often had to respond to encores. Items were given by Mrs. Buchanan (Whakama.ra), vocal solos; Airs. W, W. Mundy, elocutionary; Mrs, A, M. Young and Mrs. A. J. Corrigan, pianoforte solos; Miss E, Murdoch, vocal solos. Mrs. M. Wiltshire (formerly Miss Betty Sturrock), violin solos. Community singing brought a ' very pleasant,, evening to its conclusion. Among those present were Aliss McLean, Airs. Woodward, Airs. Williams, Airs. W. J. Bright, Airs. W. M. Thomson, Airs, C. Freyberg,' Airs. Uaplen, Mrs; Leslie Bull, Airs. .Collins, Mrs. Murray Page, Airs. A. Corrigan, Aire. Buehahan, Mrs. Wiltshire, Mrs. Jobson, Mrs. AV. W. Mundy, Airs. Kinniont, Mrs. McWilliam, Airs. C. Bayley, Mrs; W, Al. Winks, Airs. Simpson, Aliss Alurdocb, Miss Al. C. Power, Airs.
