At the Navy League conference it was decided to make representations to the head office in England to invite Lord Jcllicoe to visit the Dominion on behalf of the league. The next conference will be held at Christchurch. a remit was carried that the conference viewed with alarm the reduction in the defence vote and re-affirmed its belief in the principle that the Dominion should contribute its full share towards the cost of Imperial defence.
