COUPLE TWICE MARRIED
TANGLE OF NATIONALITIES. London, June 20. Miss Marie Williams, a Scotch operatic singer, has married her husband, M. Sergei Radamsky, a Russo-American singer, a second time. She explained that she married him first in Moscow. As he was a naturalised American, she assumed that she would automatically become an American citizen. The British authorities took this view and said that as Marie was no longer a British subject she was not entitled to a British passport. Americans, however, decline to recognise weddings celebrated in Russia, and she was refused an American passport. The authorities stated that the solution was to re-marry in England, after which Marie becomes a provisional American citizen. M. Radamsky said pessimistically that he could see himself re-marrying his wife in every country to which they.go together. He would not mind marrying her a hundred times, but it was likely to prove an,expensive business.
