DISPUTE OVER BOATSWAIN

STEAMER MAHENO HELD UP. Py Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Tho steamer Maheno is held up owing to a dispute with the crew. It is understood that the men object to the engagement of a new boatswain, demanding that the former boatswain be re-engag-ed. Negotiations for a settlement to-day were unsuccessful, and the matter was referred to the Union Company at Wellington for settlement. In the meantime the Maheno is timed to leave Port Chalmers on Saturday evening for Bluff and Melbourne.
