PALMERSTON WINTER SHOW.
BRIGHT FOOTBALL PROGRAMME. . The Winter Show at Palmerston North will open on Tuesday next, June 17, the official opening ceremony taking place at noon the following day, when his Excellency Lord Btedisloe will be in For this year’s event a very attractive football, programme has been arranged, the chief matches being Te Ante v. Palmerston North Boys High School on Wednesday at 2.30 pan., when the Moascar Cup will be at stake, and on Saturday at 2 p.m,, when Sacred Heart College (Auckland) will try conclusions with St. Patrick’s College, Wellington. The latter match will attract the attention of the whole of the Dominion. On Thursday the sub-unions of Te Kawau and Oroua will meet. Soccer enthusiasts will be catered for as a cur-tain-raiser on Wednesday, when Flock House and Athletic will take the field. On Thursday the curtain-raiser will be between a team from the Feilding Agricultural College and the Palmerston North Boys High School second fifteen. There will be no curtain-raiser on Saturday. On Wednesday and Thursday mornings dog trials will be the order of the programme, there being a large number of competitors, while on Friday the whole of the afternoon will be devoted to horse competitions. On all railways in the North Island there will be excursion fares, and outside visitors to Palmerston North are assured of a hearty welcome. Each day’s programme, together with price of admission to the show, will be published each day next week. For any further information make application to "VV. T. Penny, secretary. P.O.
