Tiie funeral of Mrs. Sharrock, wife of Mr. W. Sharrock, took place yesterday. Mrs. Sharrock, whose death occurred on Monday, had lived in Sti afford from the very early days. She had been in indifferent health for some time and recently underwent a serious operation. Mr. F. Veale, formerly stationmaster at Stratford and now 'farming in the Waikato, and Mr. L. Veale, Paeroa, paid a visit to Stratford last week, being the guests of Mr, and Mrs. J. B. Hine, Toko. The tender of Mr. G. Dick has been accepted for additions to the Stratford Public Hospital. An unusual and effective scheme of decorations, imbued with a flavour of mountain air and alpine scenery, has been adopted for the Stratford Mountain Club’s dance in the parish hall tonight. McNeill’s orchestra has been engaged and the function should rank prominently among the dances of the season.
