Playing against Northamptonshire, Duleepsinhji compiled the highest score ever put up for Sussex, eclipsing Ranjitsinhji’s 285, against Somerset in 1901. He batted faultlessly for 5| hours for 333, which included one six and 34 fours. '■ Surrey v. M.C.C.—Surrey in the first innings made 245'.(Hobbs 73, Ducat 76; Kennedy took five wickets for 65) and in the second three wickets for 245 and declared (Hobbs 57, Ducat not out 100). M.C’.C. made 305 (Chapman 65, Kennedy not out 94; AUom took seven wicket for 71) and in the second three wickets for 58. The match was drawn. Lancashire v. Gloucestershire. —Lancashire in the first innings made 218 (Watson 64; Sinfield took six wickets for 90, Goodard four for 66) and in the second lost no wickets for 47. Gloucestershire in the ffist innings made 54 (Tyldesley took six wickets for 30) and followed on, making 210. Lancashire won by ten wickets. Sussex v. Northamptonshire. —Sussex in the first innings lost seven wickets for 521 and declared (Duleepsinhji 333, Tate 111). Northamptonshire in the first innings made 187 (Wensley took four wickets for 45) and followed on, making 125 (Tate took seven wickets for 45). Sussex won by an innings an<l 209 runs. Yorkshire, v. Oxford University — Yorkshire in the first innings made 379 (Oldroyd 63, Harbord 109; Pebbles took si.: wickets for 126) and in the second lost no wickets for 200 (Holmes not out 107, Sutcliffe not out 80). Oxford University in the first innings made 300 (Patoudi 70, Melville 118). The match was drawn. •
Warwickshire v. Somerset. —Warwickshire in .the first innings made 294 and in the second 258. Somerset in the first innings made 89 and r the second 140. Warwickshire won by 233 runs.
