FINAL TENNIS COMPETITION. Tlio final competition on the Awakino tennis courts was concluded on Saturday, tho winning couple, being. Miss. Lena Bartlett and Mr. Cyril .McNeice. The details, of the play are:— First round. —Basil Bryant and Miss Hogarth (rec. 3) 32 lost to Mrs. McNeice and K, Black (owe 5) 50, Mrs. Jones and A. .Smith (rec. 15) 33 lost to Miss Bartie. t and C. McNeice (owe 12) 50, Mrs. McMillan and K. Bryant (rec. 9) 42 lost to Mrs. Bryant and J. McNeice (rec. 5). 50, Mrs. K. Black and T. McNeice (owe 3) 50 beat Mrs, L. Black and W. Coulton (owe 1) 42, .Second round.—Mrs. Bryant and J. McNeice (rec. 5) 30 lost to Mrs. K. Black and T. .McNeice (owe 3) 50, Miss Bartlett and C. McNeice (owe- 12) 50 beat Mrs. McNeice and K. Black (owe 6) 40. In the play-off Miss Bartlett and C. McNeice (owe 12) 50 "beat Mrs. K. Black and T. McNeice (owe 3) 40. FOOTBALL CLUB MEETS. Tiie annual general meeting of the Awakino Football Club was held last week-end. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. H. Cummings; president, Mr. L. R. Jones; vice-presidents, Messrs. Terrill, A. Bartlett, N. Clifton, G. MacMillan; secretary, Mr. W. Caulton, Mr. Jones and Mr. K, Black were elected to represent Awakino on the sub-union committee. It was decided to hold a practice during the following week-end and to arrange a friendly game next week-end.
