POINTS IN COAL DISPUTE
OWNERS GIVE ASSURANCE
SETTLEMENT POSSIBLE

Rec. 8.20 p.m. Sydney, May 5. Still another attempt to settle the coal dispute is going on in Sydney between the parties. The miners’ leader? approached the owners to obtain assurances that there would bo no victimisation and that the owners would waiv< their right “to hire and fire.” It is understood that the owners have assented and negotiations upon other points are .still proceeding. It is popularly believed that the miners are at the end of their resources.
