PARACHUTE SENSATIONS

“DEATH DIVERS’” NEW FEATS. By’ Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 4. New and more semsatibnal feats are at present being practised by aerial acrobats, who are described as death divers. They are parachutists o-f exceptional skill and iron nerve, who after a leap fr m an aeroplane, fail thousands' of feet before pulling the cord. It is believed that a 'drop of more than 5000 feet is possible, while iron-nerved experts will shortly achieve the distinction of falling a mile (5280 feet). Even when milling pell melli towards the earth, perhaps turning slow,.somersaults, skilled parachutists retain full command of their faculties. Some, in order to estimate exactly when to release the cord, wear wrist watches and, in the process of falling, keep their eyes on the second hand.; thereby judging when to check the fall.
